Goals & Objectives

Goal 1. Examine concepts of queer identity.
Objective 1. Discuss in small groups the participants’ understanding of queer identity.
Objective 2. Record results of this discussion on a Web archive.
Goal 2. Examine concepts of queer culture.
Objective 1. Discuss in small groups the participants’ understanding of queer culture.

Goal 3. Engage educators in discussions of curriculum development around queer identity and queer culture.
Objective 1. Present participants with content relevant to teachers in arts, language, humanities, and social studies.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn to:
1. Identify cultural and historical dimensions of queer experience.
2. Infuse existing curricula with resources of cultural and historical significance to sexual minority people.
3. Employ World-Wide Web technologies (e.g. blog, social networking) for curriculum development.
